I’m pretty sure that I am the only person on the East Coast who is notttt pleased that the weather has been uncharacteristically warm. Why you might ask? Well, first, I was a winter baby so I like to think I have a natural affinity for weather of the colder persuasion. Second, I HAVE SO MANY CUTE COATS I WANT TO WEAR. See, coats always get a bad rap: They’re ugly people say, they’re bulky people pout, they cover my cute outfit they complain. So wrong. When you shop around properly and find the right coats, they can become a statement piece in their own right. Below I’ve compiled a few great coats all under $100. So prepare yourselves my friends, as they say in Game of Thrones….winter is coming.

I’m a sucker for anything with the word ‘fluffy’ in the title. I mean it just instills an image of being comfy-cozy am I right? This jacket from Urban Outfitters is the perfect balance between functional, comfortable, and of course, fashionable. The neutral color will go with pretty much any outfit, from jeans to dresses. This jacket is perfect for a work event or dinner with the family. Be warned: people will probably ask why you haven’t taken of your jacket even though your inside. Those people can step off; you cant help it if this jacket feels like a giant hug!

This jacket right here is going to be your best friend when it’s 40 degrees and you have to trek across campus to a 9 am statistics class (still bitter about this addition to my schedule, pun intended). This coat has down-and-feather fill, which will definitely keep you warm, as well as a removable hood for those days when snow decides to grace us with its presence.The tweedy contrast body panels give this coat a unique look, and the length is great for keeping you as warm as possible. AEO Vegan Leather Moto Jacket-$99.95

Let’s get real here for a minute: as a college student myself we alllll know that even if it’s -50 degrees out, you will not under any circumstances where a coat to Da cLuB. You will inevitably freeze your ASSets off and curse the day you decided to live in the Northeast. Since I know you won’t wear a winter jacket for a night out, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD please at least wear a leather jacket. It adds a fun edge to your outfit and will keep you relatively warm. This one from American Eagle Outfitters is made out of vegan leather, so not only is it chic, you also wont have to worry about PETA throwing red paint at you either. Score!
