Cannes Film Festival 2014

Well, today officially marks the last day of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, or what I like to refer to as ‘Heaven on Earth’. I don’t know about you, but I’d do pretty much anything right now to be lounging on the beach in the French Riviera taking in the sun and celebrities. Unfortunately, waitressing isn’t quite lucrative enough for a 5-star trip and designer couture.  I can’t complain though: My Memorial Day Weekend is consisting of sun, beer, and a plethora of pictures from Cannes to look through. Below I’ve compiled some of the most memorable looks from the festival as a way to wish you all a wonderful Memorial Day. So, relax by the pool, grab a margarita, and check out my Cannes Film Festival 2014 Roundup!

Queen of Cannes: Blake Lively

Blake Lively Maroon Gucci  Blake Lively Chanel  Blake Lively Gucci

Okay, I had my doubts before, but I am now absolutely certain that Blake Lively is not of the human species. She is clearly some sort of genetically modified super human with retina burning beauty and an unparalleled sense of style. She let her secret out of the bag with her awe inspiring looks in Cannes. First, she wore a sexy maroon Gucci gown with a unique neckline and a lot of leg. She looks like a bronzed goddess and makes me want to lather my body in self-tanner immediately. Next, she wore a white Chanel dress which is not only gorgeous, but IT HAS POCKETS. Is there anything better in life than Chanel and pockets? I think not. I love how she  wore her signature beachy waves with the couture dress, adding a fun, relaxed vibe to the look. Just when you thought she couldn’t upstage her first two looks Blake Lively was all “HAHAHA” and showed up in this flawless Gucci gown. I mean, is she kidding me ? Who looks this perfect?! She totally nailed the old-holywood glamour with the red lip and massive updo. Congrats, Blake, you win..at life.

Runner-Up: Freida Pinto

Freida Pinto 1   Freida Pinto 2

I truly adore Freida Pinto. She seems like such a lovely girl, and I was thrilled to see her have a total fashion moment at Cannes Film Festival. This nude feathered gown by Michael Kors looks absolutely gorgeous on Freida. It compliments her beautiful skin tone and the loose waves and red lip are spot-on. Love, love, love. Now, this red Oscar de la Renta gown isn’t my usual taste, but for some reason I’m obsessed with this look on Freida. I love that she kept jewelry minimal and pulled her hair back to show off the gorgeous sweetheart neckline. Can we also take a minute to talk about her gold Jimmy Choo shoes? Swooooon.

Missed the Mark: Karlie Kloss

Karlie Kloss  Karlie Kloss Back

I’m not really sure where to begin with this dress because I’m not entirely sure what’s going on here. Karlie is wearing a teal and purple lace Valentino ensemble that looks like something a witch would go to sleep in. What’s most devastating about this look is that from the neck up she looks gorgeous! Her makeup, hair and earrings are perfect, but everything else…is not. The teal, purple and black lace does not go together and it makes 21-year-old Karlie look way older than she is. Karlie is a gorgeous young supermodel, and I think she would have looked stunning in something brighter and more fitted. I think your bestie Taylor Swift would say you should never ever ever get back together with this dress.

What do you guys think? Who was your best dressed? Worst dressed? Let me know!
